About Voice of the Faithful NY

Voice of the Faithful is a community of Catholic laity with members and affiliates across the nation and around the world. VOTF’s mission is to provide a prayerful voice attentive to the Spirit through which the Faithful can actively participate in the governance and guidance of the Church.

VOTF foundational goals are to support the survivors of clerical sexual abuse, to support priests of integrity, and to work for structural change within the Church to produce increased transparency, accountability, and lay involvement in decision-making.

VOTF NY supports these goals. Our current emphasis is especially focused on efforts to increase transparency and accountability among hierarchy, clergy, and laity. We aim to accomplish this by increasing laity awareness of our responsibility to ensure a healthy Church, engage clergy in dialogue, address important issues facing the Church, and be a constant voice for lay concerns.
